My name is Jolinda. I'm 36 years old, married, and a mother to an 12-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter. Eight years ago, I couldn't run for even a minute. I was overweight, smoked a pack of cigarettes a day, and was far from fit and healthy. I was always tired and lethargic. I knew I needed a change!
I started running, and it transformed my lifestyle. I lost 20 kilograms and now I run ultramarathons, participate in IRONMAN 70.3 events, and have completed 5 IRONMAN 140.6 events, including the World Championship in Kona, Hawaii!
For those unfamiliar with a full-distance Ironman, it consists of a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike ride, and a marathon run (42.2 km) – all in one day, without a break :)
You might wonder, "Why would you do that?" Setting a big goal keeps me focused and helps me make better choices in other areas of my life. The definition of a 'big goal' has changed over the years; six years ago, running 5 kilometers seemed impossible, now I feel the same at the start of an IRONMAN. But you know what? With consistent training and perseverance, anything is possible. For you too!
In 2020, I successfully completed my training to become an Ironman Certified coach. I also pursued studies in nutrition and sports nutrition and am now a qualified nutritionist! To better guide my runners and triathletes, I have completed the USA Triathlon Level 1, Stryd coaching, and Precision Hydration courses, and have become a TriDot and RunDot coach.
I LOVE sharing my knowledge and passion, and getting others excited about running and triathlon. I enjoy helping people gain insights into sports nutrition, teaching them to run faster and longer, and coaching triathletes toward their goals!
In 2019, I started my first 12-week running group, guiding participants from zero to 5 kilometers, successfully! From there, it grew, and now I coach around 60 runners at all levels, from beginners to experienced marathoners.
As an Ironman Certified Coach and USAT Level 1 Coach, I train triathletes of all levels, from those looking to complete their first super sprint triathlon to age-group competitors participating in full-distance Ironman events.
Since 2023, I have been affiliated with RunDot and TriDot, the most advanced platforms for running and triathlon training and an official partner of IRONMAN.
